Dream it. Design it. Build it.

Thomas Cochren Homes designs and builds unique homes in a broad range of traditional, transitional and modern styles, with sizes ranging from 1,800 to over 20,000 square feet.

Our experience and unique vision have helped us to forge strong relationships with the industry’s foremost architects, designers, artisans and trades people.  By integrating their services with ours, we are able to offer our clients a lot more than just a house.  Each of our homes is created for a purpose, with individualized service for, and constant input from, the client.

TCH’s fully managed services integrate all the elements of a new home build: real estate, architecture, engineering, interior design, permitting, demolition, and construction are all available through a single point of contact, simplifying the process of building your dream home.

Thomas Cochren Homes puts as much, or more, care and service into our renovation projects as we do into new construction.  Consideration of the purpose for the project, the clients’ needs and personal style, and integration with the existing architecture of the house, are our priorities.

Renovations and additions can include architectural and interior design, obtaining all municipal approvals and scheduling contractors and trades to ensure a seamless transformation from old to new.

Our years of experience enable us to create solutions to space, layout or design problems with the same Thomas Cochren Homes guarantees of quality, timeliness and attentive service.

FAQ’s

Why should I hire a professional?

Your home is a significant, if not your largest, investment! To improve and maintain this investment it is important to hire a professional contractor. Always be sure to agree on a clear contract for work to be completed. Here are some reasons why:

  • A proper contract spells out what work is to be done, when and how much it will cost. Without a contract, you have little protection from overcharging, incomplete work or excessive delays in completing the project.

  • A proper contract includes a clear warranty on the work being done. Without a contract, it can be difficult or impossible to get faulty work repaired.

  • A proper contract specifies the materials and products to be used in your project. Without a contract, you could end up with inferior materials and little recourse.

  • A proper contract includes proof that the contractor has up-to-date workers’ compensation coverage and liability insurance. Without a contract, you could face enormous financial and legal costs if anyone is hurt on the job, or if there is damage to your home or neighbouring properties.

  • A proper contract includes payment holdbacks in accordance with provincial lien regulations. Without a contract, you could be held responsible if the person you hired fails to pay for materials or subcontract labour, even if you have already paid the contractor.

When you hire someone to work on your home, a proper written contract isn’t an option, it’s a necessity.
